LBMA launches first Annual Review 2017
Monday, October 16, 2017
The LBMA's first Annual Review sets out the significant achievements that the LBMA has made in 2017, in particular how we have introduced greater integrity and transparency to the global precious metals market.
To promote greater transparency we published for the very first time the amount of gold and silver in the London vaults. We also published the Global Precious Metals Code, which provides the market with a clear set of principles to promote integrity and the effective functioning of the market.
Another notable achievement was extending Responsible Sourcing beyond gold to include all four metals. The Responsible Silver Guidance became mandatory for all LBMA silver refiners on the 1 January, 2018 and guidance for platinum and palladium has been developed.
