Hatton Garden Metals Ltd joins LBMA as an Affiliate Member
What were the reasons for you wanting to join LBMA and what do you see as the key benefits of membership?
LBMA has an outstanding reputation within the industry, and the standards it advances are ones we have always associated with prestige, transparency, and integrity. It is an organisation we have long aspired to be associated with. Becoming part of an organisation that reflects our values and plays a central role in the precious metals market was therefore a natural and important step for us.
Tell us about your company’s role in the precious metals market
Precious metals are in our blood. As a family-run company in the scrap and bullion industry, we are immensely proud of our reputation and the level of service delivered by our team. We pride ourselves on offering customers the best price for their gold, whether buying or selling, alongside a simple and transparent service. As sisters, we have built a business where personal service truly matters. Every investor and seller receives the same care and attention.
What’s the background and history of the company?
Hatton Garden Metals Ltd was originally established as a scrap gold dealer during the gold boom around 17 years ago, with the aim of offering customers fair and competitive prices for their scrap gold. From the outset, transparency and trust were central to our approach. Early on, we appeared at the top of a Martin Lewis gold price comparison, which gave the business a significant boost. Customers looking for fair pricing and high-quality service quickly found us, and strong customer reviews helped the business grow organically. That foundation continues to underpin everything we do today — combining highly competitive pricing with consistently excellent customer service.
What factors do you expect to impact your business in the short to long term?
Silver in 2026 has started with exceptionally strong demand. As a metal, it is far bulkier than gold, meaning transport and handling require greater consideration. Logistics, storage and cost efficiency will be a key focus as volumes continue to increase.
What are your future plans for the business?
We want everyone to understand how easy it is to buy and sell physical gold and precious metals and to feel confident being part of this market. We believe gold and precious metals should be accessible as a store of wealth not only to investors, but also to everyday savers. Our aim is to remove complexity and barriers, helping more people participate with confidence.
