The recent meeting of the Physical Committee discussed several items, the key focus areas as outlined below:
GD Applications Timelines
The meeting discussed the possibility of having applications windows outside of holiday seasons and year-end periods to manage the high volumes; and maintain a smooth process.
GDL Rules
The Committee discussed the need to define the rules for Suspended refiners. The meeting also noted that the LBMA Referees would be reviewing the Proactive Monitoring requirements, in particular for four-nines refiners, to ensure they were still fit for purpose. Other points of discussion included post-production surface treatments, in particular for GD applicants.
