The volume of ounces transferred in April decreased by 6.7% month on month (m/m) to 18.6 mn ounces, with the corresponding value 4.4% lower at $32.8 bn. There were 4,381 transfers in April, 19.5% lower m/m, with the clearers settling on average 4,244 ounces per transfer, 16% higher than the previous month.

The volume of ounces transferred in April was 13.8% lower m/m at 227.2 mn ounces, with the corresponding value transferred falling by 13.7% to $5.83 bn. The number of transfers in April fell by 19% m/m to 1,749, with the clearers settling on average 129,949 ounces per transfer, up 6.2% on the previous month.
The average gold / silver price ratio in April was 68.7 compared to its peak of 111.9 in April last year.
