Daily Averages Gold Clearing Data - January 2022

The volume of gold transferred in January increased by 13.6% month on month (m/m) to 18 mn ounces to its highest level since June 2021, with the corresponding value transferred up 15.5% m/m to $32.7 bn. There were 4,619 transfers, 3.7% higher m/m, with the clearers settling on average 3,897 ounces per transfer, 9.5% higher m/m.

Daily Averages Silver Clearing Data - January 2022

January proved rather more subdued for silver. The volume of ounces transferred fell by 3.8% m/m to 201 mn ounces, with the corresponding value transferred down 0.9% m/m to $4.65 bn. The number of transfers increased by 13.4% m/m to 1,646, with the clearers settling on average 122,094 ounces per transfer, 15.1% lower m/m.

The average gold / silver price ratio in January was 78.6 down from 79.5 in December.
