FAQs
We are closely monitoring the situation regarding Hurricane Milton as the safety of our delegates and team is our top priority. As of today, we still plan to continue with the Conference, due to begin on Sunday 13 October. Reports suggest that the storm will not cause high disruption in Miami and Hollywood over the weekend, with it likely to have reached the Atlantic by Friday when most delegates are expected to be arriving. We recommend delegates check with their airlines for any updates.
We will, of course, continue to review this and will be in touch if the situation changes.
The Conference will take place from Sunday, 13 to Tuesday, 15 October at The Diplomat Convention Centre, third floor, 3555 South Ocean Drive, Hollywood, Florida, 33019, USA.
A floorplan of the Diplomat Convention Center can be found here.
A 'business casual' dress code will operate for the Conference sessions, the Informal Networking and Welcome Receptions, and the Gala Dinner, although delegates are welcome to opt for more formal attire if they prefer.

Yes, provided that you take time to verify all account details directly with the Hotel staff. Use credit card in person where possible.
For room bills and smaller transactions it is best to pay by card when you are at the hotel and directly with the Hotel reception staff.
If you have arranged the event directly with the Hotel, and the cost is small enough, you should seek to pay by card prior to leaving the hotel. If not, you should reach out to our Event Manager, Phil Cairns at phil@dumonla.co.uk, who may be able to support by arranging for a secure payment link, or by settling the cost through the LBMA Master Account allowing you to pay through LBMA.
In this instance standard accounting procedures should be followed where supplier details are verified directly with hotel staff prior to supplier set up in your accounts system. You may also wish to conduct a “penny test” whereby a small sum is paid to the hotel to verify the payment route. Once the hotel confirms receipt of the test payment, you may then settle the remainder of your invoice sum. Standard accounting procedures for the verification of account details and suppliers should be followed at all times.
If you are still unsure how to proceed and are attending the Conference, in person, please reach out to the Event Manager, Phil Cairns, or the LBMA Chief Finance Officer, Ed Blight, who can be reached through the Conference Registration and Help Desk.
LBMA offers free registration to the Conference for up to two media representatives from each Press Company.
To register for the Conference, please contact Katherine Ernst (Digital Marketing Manager, LBMA) at katherine.ernst@lbma.org.uk, who will be your main point contact for issues relating to the Conference.
Registration includes entry to the Conference itself, as well as the Welcome Reception beginning on Sunday afternoon, and lunches and coffee breaks on Monday and Tuesday.
You should also be aware that cameras and recording equipment are not permitted inside the Plenary Room during the Conference proceedings and are only allowed in the breakout areas outside.
Please let Katherine know if you would like to arrange interviews with the LBMA Executive, although media representatives are expected to arrange interviews with the delegates attending the Conference.
As is the case with all other delegates, you will need to make your own flight and hotel accommodation arrangements. You can book your hotel room online. LBMA will provide a link once you have registered.
Cancellations prior to Friday 6, September 2024 will be refunded in full less 20% administration fees. We regret that cancellations cannot be accepted thereafter.
