Keynote Speaker and Investment Session Revealed

We are pleased to announce that Joachim Nagel (President, Deutsche Bundesbank) will deliver the Opening Keynote Address at the Global Precious Metals Conference, taking place from 4 - 6 October in Sorrento, Italy.

Joachim Nagel (President, Deutsche Bundesbank)

Joachim Nagel has been President of the Deutsche Bundesbank since January 2022 and serves as a member of the European Central Bank’s Governing Council, a Governor at the IMF and a member of the BIS Board of Directors. With more than two decades of leadership experience across central banking and international financial institutions, including the Bundesbank, KfW Group and the Bank for International Settlements, he is a leading voice on monetary policy, financial stability and the global economic outlook.

Panellists Announced for Investment Session

Nicky Shiels (Head of Research & Metals Strategy, MKS PAMP) - moderator

Nicky Shiels brings nearly two decades of experience across precious and base metals markets. Having held senior roles at Scotiabank, Jefferies and JP Morgan, she combines deep expertise in metals research, market strategy and macroeconomics. A regular commentator for the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, CNBC and Bloomberg, Nicky is ideally placed to guide discussion and uncover key insights from industry leaders.

Shayne McGuire (Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets & Gold Fund, Teacher Retirement System of Texas)

Shayne McGuire manages the Emerging Markets portfolio and pioneering Gold Fund at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, one of the largest pension funds in the US. He launched the first gold fund in the US pension fund system in 2009 and continues to oversee the strategy today. A recognised voice in precious metals investing, Shayne is also the author of three books on gold and silver.

Vikram Dhawan (Head of Commodities & Fund Manager, Nippon India Mutual Fund)

Vikram Dhawan brings over two decades of experience in global commodity markets across Europe and Asia and oversees more than US$10 billion in assets under management. Prior to joining Nippon India Mutual Fund, Vikram held senior roles at The Bank of Nova Scotia, N.M. Rothschild & Sons Limited, Vedanta Plc, the Aditya Birla Group, and Nippon India Alternative Investment Fund (AIF).

Wei Yan (Macro Portfolio Manager, Dymon Asia)

Wei Yan has a strong track record in both directional and relative value strategies across asset classes, developed during eight years in the Hong Kong hedge fund industry. He has been particularly active in China’s onshore commodity markets, focusing on arbitrage opportunities between onshore and offshore markets. Wei began his career in Tokyo trading JPY interest rate products.
