New Speakers Join the Metals in Motion Session

As part of the upcoming LBMA/LPPM Global Precious Metals Conference, the Metals in Motion session will now feature two additional voices from the front lines of the global market.

Mathew O'Neill (Head of Precious Metals Origination EMEA, HSBC)

Mathew leads HSBC’s London-based precious metals origination team, working with clients that span the entire value chain — including central banks, hedge funds, gold miners, refiners, and international financial institutions. Since joining HSBC in 2008, he has held roles in corporate FX, energy solutions, and structured metals, giving him a well-rounded commercial perspective. Mathew also serves on the LBMA Membership Committee, helping to shape the standards and growth of the global bullion market.

Joseph Stefans (Head of Trading, MKS PAMP)

Joseph brings more than 13 years of experience in precious metals, having held a range of front-office trading roles across New York and London. Formerly with HSBC, where he ultimately oversaw EMEA metals trading, he now leads global trading strategy at MKS PAMP. He’s served on the LPPM Management Committee and continues to sit on the LBMA Public Affairs Committee, contributing to public positioning and policy discussions across the industry.

Mathew and Joseph will join Adrian Ash (BullionVault), Mark Woolley (Brink’s Global Services), and Tim Murray (Johnson Matthey) on what is set to be a dynamic and forward-looking panel discussion.

With these additions, Metals in Motion promises an even broader conversation — covering volatility, pricing dynamics, liquidity, and the interplay between physical and financial markets.
