Getting to Sorrento - Flying to Naples
The closest airport to Sorrento is Naples International Airport (NAP / Capodichino Airport), located approximately 50 km from Sorrento, with a travel time of 1 to 1.5 hours.
Alternative Airports
If flights into Naples are limited, consider:
• Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)
Approximately 3-4 hours from Sorrento by train + transfer or private transfer.
• Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport (QSR)
A smaller regional airport with limited service options.
Onwards to Sorrento
By Land:
To reach Sorrento, consider a private transfer, taxi, bus or train from Naples Airport:
• Curreri Viaggi Bus - Direct service from Naples Airport to Sorrento (approx. 1 hour).
• Private Transfer / Taxi - Door to door service; generally €80-€160.
• Bus + Train Combination - Take the Alibus to Napoli Centrale and connect to the Circumvesuviana train. Budget friendly, though slower.
By Sea:
A scenic and highly enjoyable option is travelling to Sorrento by high speed ferry from Naples:
• Departs from Molo Beverello port in Naples.
• Arrives at Port of Sorrento.
• Journey time is approximately 40-45 minutes.
• Multiple departures daily, operated by Alilauro and NLG.
• Typical one way fares range from €16-€18 depending on the operator.
• Note: Services can be suspended during rough sea conditions.
Reaching the Ferry Terminal:
• From the airport: take the Alibus directly to Molo Beverello.
• From Napoli Centrale station: Metro Line 1 to Municipio station, a short walk to the port.
The ferry option offers beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples and the Sorrento coastline.
