Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing Summit 2022: Session 4 - Growing Responsible Demand for ASM

In today’s webinar, we release a session from the Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing Summit, held in partnership with the World Gold Council at the end of March.

Voted the most popular session by our delegates, the panel consisted of Joanne Lebert (Executive Director, IMPACT), Christophe Nicolet (General Manager, PX Précinox SA Switzerland), Marcin Piersiak (Europe Director, ARM) and Gavin Hilson (Professor & Chair of Sustainability in Business, Surrey Business School) and was moderated by Alan Martin (Head of Responsible Sourcing, LBMA).

Our panellists talk about the importance and potential of Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM). They also examine the growing demand and supply of ASM material through underpinning the challenges typical in conflict-affected areas, and the challenges and realities of purchasing gold from Africa's ASM sector.

Watch the webinar to also find out more about the Sustainable Mines Program, LBMA refiners demand for ASM material, and IMPACT’s Just Gold Project.
