In this webinar, we release the first recording from our recent LBMA/LPPM Virtual Precious Metals Conference 2021.

The Future of Responsible Sourcing, Sustainability and ESG session was led by Sakhila Mirza (LBMA General Counsel and Executive Board Director) who hosted a panel including Tyler Gillard (OECD), Matthew Shannon (FATF), Phaedon Stamatopoulos (Argor-Heraeus), Gregory Mthembu-Salter (Phuzumoya Consulting) and Nitesh Shah (WisdomTree).

The webinar features a discussion on the OECD’s three flagship initiatives to address problems in Artisanal and Small-scale Mining and the FATF report on Environmental Crime and Money Laundering – as well as many other topics relating to ESG.

“Responsible Sourcing is the responsibility of everyone,” stated Sakhila. Indeed, the panel agreed that ultimately, collaboration and communication is key across all players throughout the supply chain.

Don’t miss this webinar, in which Phaedon’s contributions earned himself the ‘best speaker of the Conference’ accolade, for which his reward was a 1 oz. gold coin created for the 125th Anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush, kindly donated by the Royal Canadian Mint for this occasion.

Delegates who attended the virtual conference may also access recordings of all sessions on the Conference platform until 20 October 2021.
