London Good Delivery bars such as this are the largest standardized gold bars traded in world markets. They contain between 350 and 430 troy ounces of gold (around 11-13 kg) and have a fineness of at least 995 parts per 1,000. In other words, the bar must consist of 99.5% gold. The bar shown here has a fineness of 999.9. This is guaranteed by the manufacturer’s stamp. Due to their characteristic shape, such bars are referred to as Sargbarren (coffin bars) in German.
