We welcome Jewellery Quarter Bullion as an Affiliate Member of LBMA

What were the reasons for you wanting to join LBMA and what do you see as the key benefits of membership?

Affiliating ourselves with brands that reflect our own values and high standards enhances our own. Jewellery Quarter Bullion has had a proud, if previously unofficial, relationship with the LBMA for its entire history. We’ve
made a virtue of selling bars from LBMA-approved refiners, a choice that has underpinned our desire for the highest level of product quality and assurance for our customers.

Our LBMA Membership has now solidified that relationship, bringing focus to our shared values and standards. Our retail insight will benefit other LBMA Members, just as we hope and expect to benefit from access to a wider pool of knowledge, resources, and advice.

Tell us about your company’s role in the precious metals market?

Jewellery Quarter Bullion has been helping UK and European customers purchase precious metals since 2008. Our brands exist to provide a simple, fast, effective, and transparent means of purchasing precious metals, supported by exceptional customer service built on helping customers to buy, not pushing a purchase.

Our rise to the UK’s number one bullion dealer online, and our continued growth both in the UK and in Europe, is inextricably linked to the trust customers have placed in our brands. Customer trust is the bedrock upon
which our growth is sustained, and its protection is fundamental to our long-term success.

What’s the background and history of the company?

Jewellery Quarter Bullion was founded in 2008 by entrepreneur Rob Halliday-Stein, who started the business with the launch of the BullionByPost website, in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, with just £10,000. The inspiration for the business came from Rob’s own frustrations buying gold at that time. He identified the customer need for a far quicker, more transparent and secure means for everyone to access precious metals.

BullionByPost has grown rapidly since its inception, becoming the UK’s largest online bullion dealer. It has achieved this growth through a commitment to clear pricing, quick delivery, exceptional customer service, and a comprehensive selection of products.

What factors do you expect to impact your business in the short to long term?

Given our intimate relationship to the retail market, we see that consumer preferences – including changes in the way consumers view investments, their perception of risk, and the role of precious metals in their portfolios – will lead to shifts in buying patterns that impact us significantly in the immediate and long term.

What are your future plans for the business?

To use the very latest technologies to enhance the service we provide to our customers as we work relentlessly towards our vision of becoming the world’s most respected online precious metals dealer.
