TranscriptEd Blight:
LBMA is the global authority for precious metals.
We set and maintain the defacto standard not only for the London market but across the world for gold and silver to support wholesale, over-the-counter trading and physical settlement.
We ensure the highest levels of leadership, integrity and transparency across the global OTC precious metals market.
LBMA membership is open to firms from across the end to end supply chain, from mining, refining, transportation, trading and investment, as well as the many businesses that support the operation of that supply chain.
Becoming a member gives that organisation a seat at our table and the ability to drive and develop our strategy and the essential market solutions for the future.
We have an extensive knowledge base that can provide advice and guidance to organisations in their everyday business.
Membership also provides the opportunity to attend a number of networking events that we operate around the globe, where businesses can grow their own networks and expand their business interests.
LBMA offers three different types of membership.
Full Membership is open to any organisation that is active in the London market. There are many benefits available to Full Members. Some dependent on which sector you work in.
As a Full Member, it enables those organisations to put forward candidates for election to three specific places on the LBMA board. It will also enable you to engage in market consultations where you can directly shape and then vote on the adoption of essential market solutions and strategies. These solutions and strategies will then define the future global benchmark for standards across the precious metals market.
Any bank that is a Full Member of the LBMA can apply to become a Market Making Member. This brings with it the additional responsibility to quote bid and offer prices at agreed quantities and tenors to each other during the London business day. That classification also has access to three further elected posts on the Board of LBMA.
Affiliate Membership is open to any organisation that is active in other markets around the world or whose business activities are relevant to the London market. Affiliate Membership offers the opportunity for individuals to sit on LBMA sub committees and working groups, and also the ability to vote at our AGM.
Wherever you are in the global precious metals industry, we'd like you to become a member, so why not find out more?
