The volume of gold transferred in February decreased by 4.7% month on month (m/m) to 17 mn, with the corresponding value transferred down 2.6% m/m to $31.8 bn. There were 4,529 transfers, 1.9% lower m/m, with the clearers settling on average 3,787 ounces per transfer, 2.8% lower m/m.

Similarly for Silver, the volume of ounces transferred fell by 4.9% m/m to 191 mn ounces, with the corresponding value transferred down 3.5% m/m to $4.49 bn. The number of transfers decreased by 0.3% m/m to 1,641, with the clearers settling on average 116,486 ounces per transfer, 4.6% lower m/m.
The average gold / silver price ratio in February was 79.1 up from 78.5 in January.
